a new addition to our growing options of inlay labret plugs, these plugs feature a unique mixed metal laminate of silver and copper, Known as Mokume-Gane. A Japanese process of layering metals, often differing colours and manipulating a billet in such a way to produce a range of distinctive regular or irregular patterns. Mokume-Gane loosely translates to "wood grain metal" and as such, we have used a random irregular pattern material.

As Mokume-gane is handmade and unique in its nature, patterns will vary wildly and each piece will be individual and vary slightly, the piece displayed will give you a good example of the kind of appearance to expect. For reference, the plug photographed is 25mm in size.

We apply a light patina to the metal to slightly darken the copper, helping to produce a vivid contrast.

We originally adapted this style to utilise a hidden hardware setting several years ago, making this common and popular style to a higher standard with adhesive-free manufacturing. We take our time with these pieces, we hand cut and file the inlay for a snug fit before finishing.

Unless otherwise requested, as standard these will be made with an 11mm wearable length, 4mm wings with a gentle concave backing.

We size our oval plugs by circumference, so they will have the same circumference as a round plug, order with confidence that your oval will fit.

To measure your oval to a round size equivalent, wrap a narrow strip of paper around your piece, mark where it overlaps the end, lay the strip out and measure between the marks in millimetres. This is the circumference, then divide that number by 3.14, (Pi) this will tell you the size of your plug.

We strongly recommend you correctly measure your oval labret plug by circumference as explained to avoid miss-ordering an incorrect size, we will not replace pieces if you have failed to measure your current piece correctly.

All our PTFE & Delrin jewellery is handmade and as such, may vary in size by +/- 0.2mm to 0.3mm.
